Base salary range: $104,604 - $135,987

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of about 120 engineers and experts in a naval division focused on acquiring and developing undersea warfare combat systems.
The role requires overseeing daily operations, setting goals, managing staff development, and ensuring technical projects stay on track for the U.S. Navy.
It's a great fit for experienced engineering leaders with a background in defense or naval programs who enjoy supervising large teams and handling both technical and administrative responsibilities.
This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15 and the ND-4 encompasses GS-12 and GS-13.
You will serve as the Platform Acquisition Division Head, Code 252 in the PLATFORM ACQUISITION DIVISION of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 (GS-12/13 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading and supervising technical and subject experts to support a naval undersea warfare program.
