Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team that supports and maintains the Navy's ALQ-99 jamming systems, ensuring they work well for aircraft while managing costs, risks, and coordination with other military groups.

You'll evaluate proposals, update maintenance guidelines, and oversee projects to keep everything running smoothly and affordably.

Key Requirements

  • Accountability in executing technical efforts for electronic warfare systems like ALQ-99 and collaborating with IPTs and division leadership

Full Job Description

You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE/TECHNICAL SPECIALIST in the Electromagnetic Spectrum Department (WX), Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Division (WXS), Project Management Branch (WXSM) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions.

This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $138,370).

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 grade equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating and interpreting Navy policies and procedures to identify cost-effective strategies and improve planning and execution of property or financial management for the success of programs, projects, or initiatives.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming Systems Fleet Support Team (FST) Lead that is accountable to PMA-234 Level II and Level III IPTs, as well as Division Leadership.
  • You will be responsible and accountable to execute technical efforts for ALQ-99, as well as coordination with JATO and other PMA-234 associated Electronic Warfare (EW) programs.
  • You will have duties assigned but not limited to contractor proposal evaluations, NATOPS and NATIPS updates, generation of Statements of Work (SOWs), coordination, collaboration with supporting activities such as FRC, FSTs, NAVSUP and DCMA.
  • You will minimize Total Cost of Ownership of systems throughout the product lifecycle. Incumbent will have oversight of ALQ-99 based S and T, FMS and other domestic initiatives within the FST.
  • You will be responsible for all Risk Management associated with the Fleet Support Team (FST).
  • You will demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2) and maintenance practices including the operational and intermediate environments which naval aviation systems are exposed.
  • You will interpret and enforce adherence to NAVAIR program policies and requirements.
