What is FreshGovJobs?

A job board that pulls government jobs from federal, state, and local sources into one place. We focus on freshness and making the listings easier to understand.

Where do the job listings come from?

Federal jobs come from the official USAJOBS API. We are adding state and local sources regularly.

What does the "New" badge mean?

We first saw that job in the last 7 days. Good time to apply before everyone else does.

Why do some jobs show different dates than USAJOBS?

USAJOBS shows when a job was "posted," but agencies repost the same job all the time. We track when we first see a listing, so you know if it is actually new or just recycled.

What is a GS grade?

GS (General Schedule) is how the federal government sets pay for most civilian jobs. GS-1 is entry level, GS-15 is senior. Each grade has 10 steps. Higher grades need more experience and education.

How do I apply for jobs?

Click "Apply on USAJOBS" (or the state equivalent) and you will go straight to the official application. We do not handle applications. You always apply directly with the government.

Is FreshGovJobs free?

Yes. Searching and viewing jobs costs nothing. We might add paid features later, but basic search will stay free.

How often is the data updated?

Federal jobs sync every 6 hours. State and local sources vary depending on what their systems allow.
