This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a General Engineer (0801 series), a Mechanical Enginer (0830 series), an Electrical Engineer (0850 series), an Operations Research Analyst (1515 series), or a Computer Scientist (1550 series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist coordinating or conducting design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering for naval combat systems.

Examples of specialized experience may include: leading a team of scientists and engineers to perform the evaluation and assessment of naval combat system baselines leading to certification; developing and executing naval combat system project plans that meet customer requirements and resource constraints; performing engineering assessments for naval combat systems.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will lead, plan, and execute test operations and data analysis at all required sites for AEGIS and Aegis BMD combat system test and integration projects.
  • You will serve as Test Director or Assistant Test Director, ensuring consistency across Test and Evaluation efforts, and working across multiple organizations to coordinate testing.
  • You will create and present briefing materials to support certification events and other work-up meetings.
  • You will develop test reports and procedures.
  • You will perform multi-mission data analysis locally and at remote sites using applicable analysis tools, documenting the results in the applicable databases and reporting forms.
  • You will review, develop, and update test articles when required due to implementation of new functional improvements or corrections to combat system programs.
