Base salary range: $104,604 - $135,987
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-13. Senior expert or supervisor.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team to manage the full lifecycle of Navy ships, including planning maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to keep them ready for service.
You'll work closely with engineers and regulators to ensure everything meets safety and operational standards.
It's a great fit for experienced engineers who enjoy supervising projects and have a background in maritime or engineering management.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Life Cycle Management Division of the Engineering Directorate of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.
GS-14 In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing oversight to ship life cycle management functions (e.g., maintaining readiness of assets, ensuring conformance with regulatory standards, developing plans for resource requirements and utilization, formulating/managing life cycle budget and allocation of resources, etc.) Experience collaborating with national and international regulatory agencies to implement and ensure ships are in compliance with established standards Experience providing consultative services to other engineers or engineering contractors on the full range of ship machinery and structural systems Experience analyzing technical requirements of and justifying ship maintenance, repair and alteration work Experience monitoring receipt of contract technical deliverables, approving cost estimate of maintenance work packages, ensuring funding is authorized against work requirements Experience providing supervision, management direction and guidance to assigned staff ensuring Command policy and procedures are met.
