Summary

This job involves leading a team in the admissions department at the Naval Academy, where you'll plan and run recruiting events, visit schools, and help attract top students through the entire admissions process.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Educational Specialist in the Admissions Department of NAVAL ACADEMY.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the federal service.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience working in an Admissions Department in an institution of higher education, working through every phase of the admissions cycle (providing application advice, customer service, records preparation, travel planning, school visits, admissions event participation, and public speaking); 2) Experience planning events, to include: maintaining budgets, coordinating venue selection, ensuring the proper shipment of promotional materials; 3) technical skills, including the ability to learn and use Salesforce or other Admissions related software as needed; 4) organizing, planning, prioritizing, scheduling executing specialized field recruiting programs Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series Major Duties:

  • You will develop, plan, and execute specialized field recruiting programs and events, such as: major Admissions Information Forums (AIF), USNA Mini-STEM visitation programs, remote Mini-STEM programs, school visits, and other events.
  • You will maximize the knowledge of all team members in order to increase the level of regional expertise in support of Admissions goals.
  • You will conduct post-event analysis to include preparing methodology for evaluating measures of effectiveness for each activity, data collection and evaluation and post-event presentation to Admissions leadership.
  • You will track team performance relative to goals such as number of applications per admissions cycle, number of completed applications, and ensuring we admit the most highly qualified and talented candidates to each incoming class.
  • You will serve as primary Admissions representative responsible for being the subject matter expert and building relationships with schools in your area of responsibility.
  • You will be responsible for managing the regional communications to your candidates, supporting efforts for application completion, customer service inquiries, and the day to day duties of your regional team.
