Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST in the Program Executive Office, Ships (PEO Ships) and the Surface Warfare Directorate (SEA 21) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating the analysis of naval databases and processing to support the review and approval of Ship Change Documents for the modernization and availability planning in support of Surface Ship.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Core Technical Assessment Team (TAT) Lead, coordinating the review and approval of all Surface Ship Modernization Ship Change Documents (SCD) and including directing any corrective actions are addressed prior to approval.
  • You will coordinate and work with Program Offices, Acquisition Resource Managers and NAVSEA Field Activities on the requirements addressed during each phase of SCD development and direct any corrective actions discovered during the approval process.
  • You will advise the Program Offices, PARMS and NAVSEA Field Activities of Navy Data Environment (NDE) and SCD requirements for all phases and advise of the requirements and benefits of the different types of modernization efforts.
  • You will represent SEA 21 on the Navy Modernization Process Team Counsel making decisions that improve or address requirements to the overall modernization process.
  • You will act as a point of contact with public and private shipyards, Regional Maintenance Centers, ships, and Force and Fleet Commanders in matters pertaining to the integration/planning of maintenance and modernization of assigned surface ships.
  • You will develop and implement improvement and efficiency strategies for the review and approval of Ship Change Document internal to SEA 21 based on findings from key program metrics.
