The Office Assistant II position in the Inspections/Plan Review Division of the WV State Fire Marshal’s Office will perform their work under the general supervision of the Divisional Secretary 2 position.

Normal duties include answering the phone, logging and dispersing mail, general correspondence via letter or email, data entry, filing, receiving, as well as other normal clerical duties.

The position may also involve the interpretation and application of office practices, procedures, rules, and regulations as allowed by the Secretary II and Divisional Director for the Inspections/Plan Review Division.

Chosen applicants will act as back-up to the Office Assistant III position within the division, completing related work as necessary.

Ability to act in a professional manner with the Public, Businesses as well as Co-Workers is a must, as is the dependability to work the normal schedule and complete assigned duties in a timely manner as the Inspections and Plans Review Division handles a large volume of work.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and/or Google Suite products is necessary in completion of daily tasks and interviewed applicants may be asked to demonstrate that knowledge during their interview.

The Inspections/Plan Review Division of the State Fire Marshal’s Office consists of a team of 30 people dedicated to the Safety of the Citizens of WV and welcomes qualified applicants to become part of that small but valuable team.
