Full Job Description

This position is located in the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research & Engineering (OUSW(R&E)).

The USW(R&E) serves as the Chief Technology Officer and is responsible for research, development, and prototyping activities within the Department of War (DoW).

You may qualify at the NH-III level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-II/ GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to: 1) coordinate multiple, high-priority initiatives simultaneously while managing competing deadlines, and tracking progress; 2) interpret, apply, and advise on complex regulatory and statutory requirements relevant to research, engineering, and technology programs; 3) lead or support process improvement, modernization, or organizational transformation initiatives.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
