Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR YOKOSUKA . ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1: Experience processing and tracking material requisitions using automated supply systems, 2: using logistics research tools like LogiQuest, supply catalogs, and technical publications to identify materials, research substitute items, and determine appropriate procurement sources; 3.

analyzing supply documentation, such as receipt and issue reports, to identify discrepancies; 4. providing technical and administrative support for procurement and supply programs.

  • You will perform functional analysis of material support, including studies of supply operations to evaluate effectiveness in terms of customer response, process control, and overall management techniques.
  • You will maintain continuing surveillance over customer support, encompassing timeliness of delivery, requisitions system performance, lead time impacts, non-standard material utilization.
  • You will provide oversight and control of the Government Purchase Card Program as Approving Official/Certifying Officer.
  • You will maintain a current library of supply catalogs, technical and commercial reference publications, and access to supply system information technology tools necessary to research and source customer material requriements
  • You will provide oversight and coordinate the compilation of contract procurement documents for submission to Fleet Logistics Centers Yokosuka and Puget Sound contracting departments.
  • You will provide technical assistance in material screening and identification, including recommendations on problem resolution.
  • You will in the absence of the supervisor manage the operation of the Requirement Division on his/her behalf and attend critical meetings with or in place of Division Head.
