Job Description

Summary

This job involves planning and coordinating logistics support for Navy ships, submarines, and aircraft carriers to ensure they have the right equipment, parts, and documentation for smooth operations.

You'll analyze data, create reports, and work with teams to handle supply needs, especially during depot maintenance or emergencies.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 in logistics management, including planning and evaluating logistical support for shipboard configurations

  • Ability to collect, analyze, review, and create data and reports for evaluating Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functions
  • Proficiency in performing material research using logistics software like NEMAIS/ERP, MRMS, Haystack, or Logiquest
  • Experience coordinating with warehouse workers, vendors, transportation personnel, and carriers for emergency supply requirements
  • Familiarity with Navy ship depot (D) level production requirements and fleet unit support

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Waterfront Operations (WFO) Branch of NAVSUP FLC SD GF.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing Logistics Management Specialist work that involves planning, coordinating, and/or evaluating the logistical actions required to provide complete shipboard configuration and logistics support to ensure correct equipment configuration.

Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Provide shipboard configuration and logistics support to include correct equipment configurations, technical manuals, parts allowancing, onboard requirements, parts demand data and/or related parts issues onboard surface ships, submarines, and/or aircraft carriers; 2) Collect, analyze, review, and create various data and reports for use in evaluating, documentation, and reporting various Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functions; and 3) Perform material research utilizing logistics software programs such as NEMAIS/ERP, MRMS, and/or Haystack to support Navy Ship Depot(D) level productions requirements.

  • You will represent the command as the technical expert in shipboard reviews and ensuring proper logistics support is provided to the Fleet.
  • You will provide complete shipboard configuration and logistics support to Fleet units in regard to equipment configuration, technical manuals, parts allowancing, onboard requirements, parts demand data as well as all related parts issues.
  • You will perform material research in NEMAIS/ERP, MRMS, Logiquest and availability status to support Navy Ship Depot(D) Level production requirements.
  • You will assist with the coordination required supporting emergency requirements with warehouse workers, vendors, transportation personnel and carriers.
  • You will collect, analyze, review and create various data and reports for use in evaluating, documenting and reporting the various Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) effectiveness and condition of shipboard Fleet units
