Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as an accountant for the U.S.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a ACCOUNTANT (STAFF) in the Resource Evaluation and Analysis Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing professional reviews of accounting and financial systems, operations, and controls (e.g.

financial management, property management, supply, procurement, transportation, maintenance, personnel management, support services, etc).

  • You will conduct reviews of a noncomplex nature and serve as a member of a team performing complex reviews reviewing Marine Corps financial, accounting, and management records and controls.
  • You will prepare review plans giving consideration to the specific characteristics of each review area and problems encountered in previous reviews.
  • You will make on-site visits to observe operations and procedures.
  • You will interview managers, supervisors and employees to gather data and verify findings.
  • You will utilize a variety of review techniques and procedures to cross-check or verify the review trail or findings to determine the accuracy and reliability of procedures, controls, and automated data and reports.
  • You will discuss review findings and proposed recommendations with managers and obtain any additional data as required.
  • You will provide technical recommendations to the Resource Analysis Officer on the establishment of new or modification of existing systems.
