Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY EXERCISE MAINTENANCE SUPPORT MANAGER in the Exercise Support Division (ESD) of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Directing and training of supply procedures, maintenance operations, and maintenance management requirements; Applying organizational leadership principles; Managing effective relationships to include military personnel and civilians of all ranks in a myriad of situations; and Performing project management.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Deputy Division Head, Exercise Support Division (ESD), G-4 Installations and Logistics Directorate, Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC), Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center (MCAGCC), Twentynine Palms, CA.
  • You will prepare and present briefings, reports, analyses and recommendations which assist in the formulations of decisions regarding long and short-range logistics program planning and execution.
  • You will represent Division's viewpoint in formal meetings and dealings with management of higher echelons within the Marine Corps to discuss and resolve sensitive matters directly affecting the accomplishment of training aboard the Combat Center.
  • You will be responsible for all ESD functions and, through subordinate supervisors, provide managerial and supervisory oversight of all sections to including operations, supply, tank maintenance, ordnance support, and weapons maintenance.
  • You will assign work based upon priorities; interview candidates for positions; recommends appointment, promotion, or reassignment; hears and resolves complaints from employees, minor disciplinary measures; and reviews.
  • You will identify the development and training needs of employees; develops, reviews, and revises performance standards; and finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work directed.
  • You will provide advice and assistance regarding labor issues to include: partnering, alternative dispute resolution, MLA negotiations, awards to the work force, beneficial suggestion program, employee discipline, promotions and staffing.
  • You will ensure annual civil service workforce training requirements are coordinated with supporting installation organizations and that periods of instruction are provided and effectively recorded.
  • You will represent the organization in emergency operations requirements for response to natural disaster events.
