Job Description

Summary

This job involves handling day-to-day financial tasks like managing accounts, processing payments, checking documents for accuracy, and supporting budget work for the U.S. Marine Corps in Japan.

You'll help with payroll for civilian and military personnel, answer questions about pay rules, and ensure everything complies with regulations.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the ASSISTANT CHIEF OF STAFF (AC/S) G-8 DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing various duties and responsibilities in support of accounting, budget, and other related financial management work.

  • You will be responsible for account maintenance and accounting support work.
  • You will provide technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items.
  • You will examine documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided.
  • You will determine pay, maintain payroll records and complete reports pertaining to civilian employees.
  • You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, financial specialists and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • You will establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts for active, reserve, or retired armed forces personnel and their annuitants.
  • You will perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintaining ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
