Job Description

Summary

This job is for a Food Service Manager at a reentry center in Spokane, Washington, where you'll mainly prepare hot breakfasts for residents and manage basic food service tasks.

It's a full-time role with early morning hours from 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and suits someone who enjoys hands-on work in a supportive environment for people transitioning back into society.

Food Service Manager 1 - Reentry - Position #NF89
Reentry Division - Eleanor Chase House Reentry Center
Spokane, Washington

The Department of Corrections (DOC) has a permanent, full time Food Service Manager 1 opening available within the Reentry Division. Position NF89 is located at the Eleanor Chase House Reentry Center (ECHRC) in Spokane, WA. Hours of work are 0530 - 1330, Monday - Friday. This position is responsible for preparing hot breakfast for the residents at ECHRC. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.
In accordance with Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-27 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • You are requesting a transfer under Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
  • You are a permanent DOC employee.
  • You currently hold permanent status in the class being recruited for in this job posting.
  • You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
