Job Description

Summary

This job is for a Community Corrections Officer working at a reentry center in Spokane, Washington, where you'll help formerly incarcerated individuals transition back into the community through supervision and support services.

It's a full-time role with standard weekday hours, focused on rehabilitation and reducing recidivism.

A good fit would be an experienced corrections professional who is empathetic, organized, and committed to public safety in a supportive environment.

Key Requirements

  • Must be a permanent employee of the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC)
  • Must hold permanent status in the Community Corrections Officer 2 class
  • Must be represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE)
  • Eligible to request a transfer under Article 4.7 of the WFSE Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Available for full-time work, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, at the Eleanor Chase House Reentry Center in Spokane, WA
  • Willing to adhere to transfer restrictions: no new requests for 12 months if offer refused, or 24 months if accepted

Community Corrections Officer 2 - Reentry - Position #NF24
Reentry Division - Eleanor Chase House Reentry Center
Spokane, Washington

The Department of Corrections (DOC) has a permanent, full time Community Corrections Officer 2 opening available within the Reentry Division. Position NF24 is located at the Eleanor Chase House Reentry Center in Spokane, WA. Hours of work are 0800 - 1630, Monday - Friday. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.

In accordance with Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-27 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY. Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:

  • You are requesting a transfer under Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
  • You are a permanent DOC employee.
  • You currently hold permanent status in the class being recruited for in this job posting.
  • You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
