Requirements

In this rewarding role, you will enhance the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable and courteous manner.

This position operates a county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day.

This is an opportunity to provide transportation service as well as social contact for our consumers (includes senior adults and wheelchair-dependent persons) while working independently.

Excellent communication skills are required, both person to person and via two-way radio.

Willingness and patience to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths is essential.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to easily adjust to the daily schedule and be a people-person.

You will have the opportunity to provide important assistance and socialization throughout the day.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Part-time employment, 14-21+ hours per week
• Transportation operates 4 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturdays
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Condition of Employment:

• No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.

Other Requirements:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
