This job involves coordinating transportation services for veterans at a VA medical center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, acting as the main point of contact to help them get to appointments and manage related logistics.
It requires organizing schedules, handling data, and working with staff to ensure timely and efficient service.

Veteran Transportation Service (VTS) will operate within the Service located at the VA Medical Center/Health Care System (VAMC/HCS) with several Community Based Outpatient Clinics.
This position is a Transportation Coordinator at the facility level and acts as primary contact to Veterans for transportation needs.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 01/21/2026.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
Knowledge of VA laws, regulations, directives, policies, procedures, performance measures and guidelines; Knowledge of Beneficiary Travel.
Ability to prepare and produce written instructions, and a variety of correspondence.
Knowledgeable in regard to consult management, scheduling, admissions, discharge, transfer, and administration with patient processing including diagnostic tests and studies, availability of these within the medical center, and procurement outside this medical center when not available at this facility or other VA facilities.; Knowledge of structure of electronic medical records.
Knowledge and spectrum of the Scheduling Package, Patient Care Encounters (PCE) Package, Consult Management processes, Advanced Clinic Access principles Knowledge of computers, Microsoft software applications, databases, and automated systems.

Major Duties:
Major duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Thorough knowledge to make sound and logical decisions, identifying and utilizing appropriate available resources.
Takes into consideration age-related differences of the various veteran populations served. Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports.
Plans for, organizes, administers, and directs how the work will be accomplished for the Veterans Transportation Program.
Daily responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and tracking data and statistical information in support of Veteran Transportation service (VTS).
Plans consult processing flow to ensure veterans receive consultation services in a timely manner. Interacts with various other transportation services.
Coordinates service practices that decrease waits and delays for patients in all specialty areas.
Has the ability to meet and deal effectively with a wide variety of staff from many educational and skill levels, for communicating clear instructions and interpretations.
Utilizes the Veterans Health Information System & Technological Architecture(VISTA), Computerized Patient Record Systems (CPRS) or SharePoint Consult/Requests Tracking System in processing internal consultations.
Must demonstrate thorough knowledge of structure of electronic medical records. Proficient in using Microsoft software and other software programs deemed necessary by the Service.
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm Telework: This position is authorized for telework - situational (ad hoc) and has NOT been authorized as remote.
