Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading technical projects for the Navy's Tomahawk missile systems, including design, testing, integration, and ongoing support to ensure they work effectively in combat scenarios.

You'll act as a key advisor to program offices, manage teams, handle budgets, and deliver updates on progress.

Key Requirements

  • Proficiency in preparing status reports, presentations, and leading assessments for program reviews

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Technical Project Manager in the Strike Weapons Division; Digital Engineering Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. ND-05 is equivalent to GS-14/15.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830 series), a Computer Engineer (0854 series), or an Electronics Engineer (0855 series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer coordinating or conducting design, development, test & evaluation, integration, or in-service engineering of combat/weapons systems.

  • You will provide technical project management and advocacy as the technical liaison to the Tomahawk Program Offices.
  • You will provide technical guidance and direction related to Tomahawk Hardware Design Agent, In-Service Engineering Agent, Integrated Product Support, Test and Evaluation, modernization, production, and All-Up-Round (AUR) Engineering.
  • You will provide overall leadership for Tomahawk engineering, integration, test and evaluation, and assessment of Navy and FMS combat/weapons systems.
  • You will provide leadership and technical oversight in multiple In-Service Engineering and Integrated Product Support disciplines.
  • You will support Customer Advocates with Tomahawk tasking/budget efforts to provide overall project management for projects under your cognizance.
  • You will work with Branch Managers and Team Leads to ensure mapping of requirements and priorities is understood, that tasking is correctly allocated to executing teams, and risks are being managed.
  • You will provide status reports and presentations on the project for formal Program Reviews and Program Office Management visits.
