Job Description

Summary

This role involves analyzing and improving technical and quality processes across a large defense supply chain organization, working with teams to solve complex issues and advise senior leaders on better ways to operate.

It focuses on reviewing policies, evaluating performance, and ensuring everything runs efficiently for customers and suppliers.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.

To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes: Interpreting full range of principles, concepts and methodologies related to one or more technical and quality assurance programs.

Analyzing techniques and evaluating methods to investigate and research issues which lead to the development of effective and efficient Technical and Quality solutions.

Communicating with large teams to identify and resolve technical and quality process issues or problems Reviewing internal quality functions and provides objective evaluations to a vendor regarding the quality systems.

Delivering training to employees/individuals and define training needs for a technical quality assurance program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

  • Conducts comprehensive reviews and provides advisory services to Leadership regarding enterprise-wide impact of process performance issues that require coordination with subject-matter specialists throughout the Enterprise.
  • Works with counterparts in the other functional process areas to investigate matters that have a broad, cross-process impact.
  • Conducts planning and/or directing comprehensive long range program reviews that involve evaluating, advising on, and improving the effectiveness of a broad range of functional supply chain programs.
  • Studies current and proposed policies and assesses impact on processes, procedures, systems, and data, as well as on customer and supplier organizations.
  • Reviews elevated policy issues that have a critical enterprise impact, which have not been resolved in a timely/effective manner and briefs Senior Leadership on the nature of the policy issues and recommended changes for resolution.
  • Identifies process constraints and works with Senior Leadership to develop strategies, recommendations, methods, or techniques suitable for evaluating process-specific functions to satisfy customer and supplier expectations.
  • Assist DLA Technical and Quality end users and Customer Operation end users by providing guidance for interpreting and applying DLA enterprise-wide processes and procedures.
