The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking two qualified candidates for the position of Systems Analyst in the Aviation Information Technology Desktop/Server section.

General DescriptionThe Systems Analyst performs advanced professional, technical and analytical work with administrative responsibility in automation systems implementation and development.

This position works as a team member as well as independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings with the section supervisor.This is an advanced position requiring a high level of technical skills that will provide lead technical support for our Help Desk and Desktop services staff in a complex environment.

This position requires advanced knowledge of the windows 11 operating system as well as advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Outlook.

The ability to troubleshoot and fix a wide variety of complex desktop hardware and software issues in a fast-paced environment is essential.

This position requires the ability to provide remote support as well as in person support. The ability to perform repeatable tasks reliably following established guidelines and procedures.

This position requires supporting the core values and mission statement of the department. Exceptional communication, documentation and customer service skills are a must.

Knowledge of Desktop imaging using Microsoft WIM technology is a plus.

Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsRequires a two (2) year degree from an accredited trade, technical or vocational school, college or university with major coursework in computer science or closely related field.(One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.)Requires four (4) years in systems analysis and applications programming or closely related experience.Special Certifications and Licenses• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license during employment and maintain authority to drive on County business.• Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and Customs Seal.

Preferences

  • Advanced Degree in Information Systems (Associate’s, Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate degrees in Computer Science or relative field)
  • 2+ years of experience working with Airport-Specific Systems
  • CompTIA Certifications or Equivalent
  • Microsoft Certification - Fundamentals, Associate, or Expert
  • Dell Certified Technician (self-dispatch)
  • 2+ years of experience working in a help desk environment

* Post-offer physical examination. * Ability to maintain authorization to drive a County vehicle. *Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.

* All Aviation Department employees must possess the ability to interact courteously with the public, Airport/product vendors, contractors, managers and coworkers to maintain a professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes a positive work environment.

Must have good customer service skills and the ability to provide solutions in a fast-paced environment, whether working independently or as part of a team.

Must be analytical and detail oriented with good troubleshooting and problem-solving ability and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.

Answers customer phone calls for service and provides first level over-the-phone problem resolutions; maintains records, reports and documentation on systems and software specifications and configurations.

Responds to second level field support customer service calls; processes customer requests for new services related to desktop hardware and software including performing installations, upgrades, and training, and processing and monitoring purchase requests; installs, configures, designs and maintains network and communications hardware and software; troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software and network problems.

Performs all system administration tasks, such as adding new users and disabling old users, adjusting profiles to provide correct application access to different user profiles; and makes simple changes to web pages of applications per user requests.

Trains users in different areas to make them aware of all system capabilities; teaches users how to personalize the system to their needs; and trains on other computer issues, as needed and/or requested.

Performs related work as assigned

Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of electronic office equipment within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
