Job Description

Summary

This supervisory IT specialist role at the Defense Information Systems Agency involves leading teams of analysts to define and plan IT strategies for the Department of Defense, overseeing complex projects, and briefing senior leaders on recommendations for IT investments.

It requires managing cross-functional teams, solving IT challenges, and ensuring projects meet organizational goals on time.

Attention to Detail - experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards Customer Service - developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs Oral Communication - briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues.

I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-14) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized Experience is defined as: Experience leading cross-functional teams in developing DoD IT strategic requirements and how requirements impact gaps, risks, funding, and the development of capabilities; AND experience briefing results of the most optimal recommendations for agency and departmental decision-making on IT investments.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.

Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-14 or higher grade in Federal Service.?

** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.

Major Duties:

  • Lead, provide oversight, and drive results for team of business analysts throughout the DISA Requirements process complex to complete time-sensitive targets towards organizational goals.
  • Successfully engage and influence CFTs, stakeholders, and leaders towards completion of CSRO projects and work products. Manage their expectations and solve challenges to ensure progress across cross-functional teams DISA requirement process.
  • Direct team to develop logical courses of action to address mission partner and Agency enterprise gaps that align to DISA key strategies, operations, business processes, customers, and technologies that impact or drive organizations.
  • Perform supervisor duties for the CFJ1 division that supports the Agency policies, procedures, and laws; promoting fairness, respect, and teamwork. Foster growth, developmental assignments, and training to CSRO staff.
  • Successfully deliver the most optimal recommendations for Senior Leadership Decision-making on new and major changes to DISA service offerings. Analysis and recommendations considers requirements, gaps, cost estimates, and funding strategy.
