Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers and architects to manage facility operations, construction projects, and environmental services for naval installations in Japan, ensuring everything runs smoothly for military support.

It requires overseeing planning, budgeting, and execution of these services while advising top leaders on strategy.

A good fit would be an experienced professional engineer or architect with strong leadership skills and a background in government or military project management.

Key Requirements

  • Professional engineering or architecture degree meeting OPM basic education requirements
  • At least one year of specialized experience at GS-14 level or equivalent in federal, private, or public sector
  • Demonstrated expertise in program management, planning, direction, policy, and financial execution for design, environmental, construction, and public works services
  • Experience in strategic planning, resourcing, and management advisory roles for command leadership
  • Proven leadership in managing personnel, operations, project delivery, and process management in facilities engineering
  • Knowledge of facilities management, engineering, acquisition, construction, and base operation support oversight
  • Ability to handle operations in a remote location like Japan, noting limited medical and dental care access

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERALAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the OPERATIONS DIVISION, NAVFAC FEC of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD FAR EAST.

Please see Additional Information section below.*** In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience carrying out responsibilities for the overall assessment and integration of an organization's operations and contract execution including program management planning, direction, policy, and financial execution for Design, Environmental, Construction, and Public Works Services for supported fleet commanders.

  • You will serve as an advisor to Command leadership for the purpose of participating in strategic planning, resourcing, and management.
  • You will provide all facility support and environmental services for the Area of Operations (AO) via Public Works Department (PWD), Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Divisions (FEAD) for Marine Corps Installations
  • You will be accountable for the effective and efficient leadership of personnel and the effective and efficient management of all operations of the Facilities Engineering Command (FEC) including interface, project delivery, and process management.
  • You will serve as the command expert for (FEC) Operational matters and responsible for oversight, review, coordination and execution of facilities management, planning, engineering, acquisition, construction, and base operation support.
