This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/ NETWORK), Position Description Number D2329000 and is part of the OH 179 Cyberspace Wing, Ohio Air National Guard.
The purpose of this position is to serve as the unit's full-time Squadron Operations Officer, providing supervision of all operational training, events, exercises, assessments and projects performed while in Title 32 status, and overseeing the management of all CPT and/or ICS defense mission equipment.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: All series personnel must be certified at the next higher level before being eligible for that level and must have a minimum of one year on-the-job experience in the grade immediately below the next higher level.
An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months of Cyberspace program supervisory experiences.
Competent in performing the full-range of supervisory duties in regard to subordinates and managing personnel responsibilities.
Skilled in advising, coaching, mentoring, and counseling employees to ensure understanding of the Air National Guard personnel programs, policies, to include senior management procedures and directives.
Experienced in conducting interviews and selecting candidates for initial hires, reassignments, promotions, or formal details.
Must have experiences and competence in regard to identifying Dual Status technician positions' Series qualification and/or certification requirements, training development, and compatible military skills.
The supervisory experiences involved leading, planning, and scheduling program work in a manner that promoted smooth flow and even distribution of assigned work requirements.
Experiences included training and guiding employees on cyberspace programs andassigning tasks.
Supervisory experiences involved balancing mission program work requirements, aligning program policies, and providing advice, mentoring, and a wide variety of directions.

Experiences may include planning, organizing and overseeing activities of the operations section of a squadron's Cyber Protection Team (CPT), to include both CPT and/or Industrial Control Systems (ICS) defense operators, as well as operations staff in charge of training, weapons and tactics, planning, and scheduling.
Other experiences may include managing, leading, and/or working squadron activities as a cyberspace operators who performed or train other operators to complete CPT, ICS, ACD, C3MS, and NMT tasks, exercises, assessments and projects.
Skilled and knowledgeable in managing cyberspace operations weapon system tools.
Must have demonstrated abilities to review tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces and experienced in determining operational capabilities.
Experienced in preparing unit training assembly schedules and training events that supported unit and mission readiness status reports.
Experienced in preparing and/or assessing the Cyber unit's operational plans and execution orders.
Must have experiences in coordinating with the Cyber unit's maintenance section to ensure all assigned equipment is in good working condition and ready for each training and mission event.
Experiences involved developing plans that committed personnel and equipment in support of missions or local emergency plans.
Skilled in performing cyberspace operations that protected the nation or assessed the capability to protect and defend information and information systems.
Experienced in providing mission assurances of information systems in regard to availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality and non-repudiation.
Conducted risk and vulnerability assessments of DoD information systems and skilled in identifying associated vulnerabilities, risks, and protection requirements. Major Duties:
As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/ NETWORK), GS-2210-13, you will perform the following duties: 1. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO objectives.
Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraises subordinate workers performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques.
Recommends awards when appropriate and approves within-grade increases. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher level management.
Initiates action to correct performance or conduct problems. Effects minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends action in more serious disciplinary matters.
Prepares documentation to support actions taken. Identifies employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the-job) to maintain and improve job performance.
Encourages self-development. Approves master leave schedule assuring adequate coverage for peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation time.
Discharges security responsibilities by ensuring education and compliance with security directives for employees with access to classified or sensitive material.
Recognizes and takes action to correct situations posing a threat to the health or safety of subordinates.
Applies EEO principles and requirements to all personnel management actions and decisions, and ensures all personnel are treated in a manner free of discrimination.
Periodically reviews position descriptions to ensure accuracy, and the most effective utilization of personnel resources. Explains classification determinations to subordinate employees. (40%) 2.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the operations section of a CPT squadron, to include both CPT and/or ICS defense operators, as well as operations staff in charge of training, weapons and tactics, planning, and scheduling.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational and commander objectives.
Plans work for accomplishment by subordinate flights, sets squadron operational priorities, and approves operational schedules and commitments based on mission requirements, commander's intent, organizational capabilities and customer needs.
Develops/publishes direction and/or guidance for subordinate flights and operations staff members in order to implement operational plans, schedules, and commitments.
Reviews work and management techniques of subordinate supervisors. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.
Ensures CPT and/or ICS defense operational members are current in required training and certifications to maintain mission readiness. (30%) 3.
Reviews incoming tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces and prepares summaries for review.
Determines capability of operations personnel to meet requirements specified in tasking orders, plans, or requests for forces; identifies limitations concerning equipment capabilities, personnel, etc.; and coordinates with tasking activities from government agencies on requirements.
Develops supplemental plans to commit personnel and equipment in support of missions assigned by the group or higher headquarters, as well as local emergency plans.
Advises higher headquarters and others, both in and outside the state, on preparation of operations plans and orders annexes. (30%) 4. Performs other duties as assigned.
