Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading safety efforts at a naval support facility in Monterey, California, where you'll create safety rules, inspect workplaces for hazards, investigate accidents, and educate staff through training and presentations to prevent injuries.
It's a supervisory role focused on ensuring safe operations in a military environment.

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the SAFETY OFFICE of NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY MONTEREY.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develops and revises safety and occupational health instructions, rules and regulations applicable to operations; 2) Prepares survey reports for the Commanding Officer identifying unsafe operations and conditions; 3) Develops and conducts a comprehensive safety education program through formal training sessions, guest lectures, and supervisor-employee discussions; and 4) Provides guidance and advice and/or renders decisions on specific operations on a continuous bases through spot check of work in progress, review of completed work, and results obtained.
