As a SUPERVISORY RECORDS AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (BRANCH CHIEF), you will serve as subject matter expert in a variety of functions related to records and information management, management of information systems, data analysis and reporting, customer relations and process analysis.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/11/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/11/2026. Application Limit: This vacancy is limited to the first 25 applications received.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Providing technical and administrative supervision to a staff of analysts engaged in programs administering records management.

Coordinating and directing records management activities and the accomplishment of difficult and diverse functions or issues related to records management.

Ensuring compliance with the Federal Records Act and accompanying regulations. Establishing long-range work plans and determining the actions necessary to accomplish records program objectives.

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within the Western Regional Operations Branch and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • Provides expert supervisory, technical, and administrative direction to a team of Analysts that are responsible for providing a variety of management services and guidance essential to the efficient and effective operations of USCIS.
  • Provides program oversight and administrative direction of the operations of the Records Program.
  • Serves as subject matter expert in a variety of functions related to Records and Information Management, management of information systems, data analysis and reporting, customer relations and process analysis.
  • Formulates policy, performs strategic analysis and planning, conducts program outreach, coordinates training, develops metrics and ensures compliance with Federal laws, regulations and guidance and advises management on any issues.
  • Uses broad data analysis to identify and resolve problems, investigate and determine innovative solutions to complex issues and prepares reports and/or presents recommendations.
