Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team that performs nondestructive testing to ensure the quality and safety of naval equipment and repairs, focusing on techniques like x-rays and inspections without damaging materials.
As the head of the testing division, you'll train staff, manage certifications, set work schedules, and advise on technical standards for ship maintenance.
It's a great fit for someone with hands-on experience in quality assurance and testing in a technical or military setting, who enjoys supervising others and solving complex problems.
You will serve as a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist in the Quality Assurance Department of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience and knowledgeable in radiography requirements per Title 10 CFR, NAVSEA Standard Items, and NAVSEA S0420-AA-RAD-010 to include x-ray and sealed source emergency operation procedures.Experience and knowledge of broad technical policy and planning formulated at higher levels of the QA and NDT organizations.
Experience and with all phases of inspection techniques in nondestructive testing and have the demonstrated ability to make technical evaluations necessary to assure conformance to NAVSEA specifications.
Experience as a certified Nondestructive Test Examiner for non-nuclear attributes to include, VT, PT, MT, and UT or possess the requisite experience and training to become qualified as a Level III examiner in compliance with NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-010/271.
Experienced in judgment and mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of technical concepts and principles, which would normally be acquired through extensive practical experience and trade theory training.
Experience and mastery of skill in communication techniques both orally and in writing; with a thorough knowledge of NDT sufficient to communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel.
Experience, knowledge and skills of project management principles to systematically approach the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling organizational resources, make appropriate prioritization and critical decisions to support the achievement of goals and objectives.
