Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POSTAL OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the NAVSUP FLC SIG GF Naples, Italy.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must include the following: Specialized experience must include: 1) Applying Navy, Department of Defense (DoD), General Services Administration (GSA) and postal regulations in daily operations.

2) Receiving, shipping, distribution delivery of mail and the employment of postal equipment for postal operations afloat and ashore.

3) Applying integrated postal logistics support, business and management knowledge to meet mission requirements for the organization.

4) Using automated material handling systems, security systems and monitoring systems to measure the efficiency and productivity of a variety of postal service programs.

  • You will ensure all United States Postal Service (USPS), Department of Defense (DoD), and Department of the Navy (DoN) and NAVSUP postal regulations are followed in the operation of the post office including all base tenant commands' Unit Mail Rooms.
  • You will manage all postal operations, mail transportation, distribution and dispatch procedures, Custodian of Postal Effects (COPE), postal customer service/finance operations, mail accountability, mail security, and mail directory service.
  • You will collect, organize, analyze, interpret and present reports on postal information and management data.
  • You will be responsible for support of fleet assets operating in the Area of Responsibility (AOR), providing postal support to both visiting ships and squadrons.
  • You will have direct supervision for military postal clerks, Host Nation Partner (HNP) employees, US civilian employees, and is responsible for directing the workforce, to include subordinate supervisors.
  • You will perform records review and materially inspects postal facilities on a weekly basis in accordance with the Postal Officer’s Weekly Checklist.
  • You will be present during all postal audits and participate in auditing procedures along with the monies audit board members.
