Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team to manage and oversee the inventory of supplies and materials for a naval logistics center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, ensuring everything from hazardous materials to ship provisions is stocked and delivered on time.

You'll handle purchasing, resolve stock issues, and supervise junior staff to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to plan and manage delivery of provisions for visiting ships, including coordination with DLA Foods and maintaining receipts

  • Proficiency in maintaining inventory control, analyzing reports to identify deficiencies, and resolving issues related to stock levels and replenishment
  • Supervisory experience assigning work to junior employees based on priorities and capabilities

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist in the Inventory Management Branch of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER JACKSONVILLE located in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: )Determining current and future supply requirements to meet customer needs.

2)Performing acquisition functions as Ordering Officer for selected contracts.

3)Overseeing the Consolidated Hazardous Reutilization and Inventory Management Program (CHRIMP) Program and Hazardous Materials Minimization (HAZMIN) Center.

4)Planning and managing delivery of visiting ships provisions received from DLA Foods. Coordinates delivery of provisions received with ships arriving in port and maintaining the receipts.

5)Acting as a technical representative of the Contracting Officer in the administration of a contract for the base supply center (ServMart) NOTE: YOU RESUME MUST SUPPORT THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE.

  • You will maintain inventory control of stock levels to determine stock replenishment for supplies and materials.
  • You will analyze operational reports and plans to identify causes of material or supply support deficiencies.
  • You will review an inventory program, policy, or procedures to determine impact and forecast changes in a functional area.
  • You will resolve issues regarding stock levels, frequency of reordering, acquisition channels, lead time, availability, storage space, and frequency of use.
  • You will assign work to junior employees based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, or capabilities.
