Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of engineers focused on improving aircraft maintenance reliability for the Navy, including planning studies, analyzing failures, and developing preventive strategies to keep planes ready for use.

It's ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys supervising projects, solving complex technical problems, and working in a military support environment.

Candidates with a background in engineering leadership and maintenance analysis would fit well.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the E-2/C-2 Multi Platform Fleet Support Team (FST) Engineering Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

This position serves as the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) Team Lead for the FST, within the Maintenance Readiness (MRT) Team Branch.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Planning and coordinating engineering investigations and studies independently or as a team leader.

2.) Leading and coordinating technical research of serious and complex engineering issues ranging across multiple technical fields and engineering disciplines.

3.) Reliability Centered Maintenance, including developing and advising on preventative maintenance policies and processes.

4.) Knowledge of Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), statistical analyses, reliability analyses, and Weibull analyses.

  • You will manage engineering resources and processes, plan, coordinate, conduct, and provide extensive engineering expertise while leading a wide array of complex engineering projects related to reliability and maintainability.
  • You will be responsible for managing the engineering resources required to perform support for assigned groups and/or technical specialties.
  • You will manage the workload for Reliability Centered Maintenance, failure data analysis, data mining and dashboarding tools, and all additional requests for engineering support submitted.
  • You will apply a thorough knowledge of a variety of standard guides, methods, and practices as well as innovative processes in order to provide team guidance in resolving engineering problems related to safety, maintenance techniques, and practices.
