Full Job Description

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (ESH) DEPARTMENT of the NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY.

The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing environmental protection programs for ship repair and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

  • You will represent the Environmental Division within and outside SRF-JRMC Command in matters of planning, funding, resources, training, and policy.
  • You will set Environmental Division mission, vision, goals, and strategies in line with ESH Department and SRF mission requirements..
  • You will develop and manage a comprehensive, effective, and sustainable environmental protection program.
  • You will provide technical expertise and program management on all environmental matters.
  • You will apply new developments and experienced judgement to a variety of highly complex technical and socio-economic problems.
  • You will provide safety and occupational health support service.
