Job Description

Summary

This job involves leading a team of technicians in a naval maintenance center, overseeing the planning and execution of ship upgrades and repairs, and ensuring projects stay on schedule.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Supervisory Engineer Technician in the Waterfront Operations Department (300) of MID ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CTR.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge of engineering principles, practices and theories obtained from and coupled with extensive engineering experience.

Experience applying technical Aspects of the field of electrical and mechanical engineering.

Experience in modernization specifications and methodologies in planning and execution of Ship Alterations and Alteration Team Installs or similar.

Experience in reviewing Integrated Production Schedules using (e.g., Project or other scheduling data bases), review of Letters of Authorization (LOAs), Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAMs) or similar.

Experience in work specification development using Navy Maintenance Database (NMD) and work notification generation using Validation, Screening, and Brokering (VSB) system or similar.

  • You will be responsible for the delivery of technical branch programs through supervision of a subordinate staff.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare work completion schedules.
  • You will lead the Modernization Coordination Branch.
  • You will lead team investigations into urgent or complex programmatic issues.
  • You will track measures of effectiveness and/or measures of performance for efficiencies.
  • You will establish and maintain metrics and measures that are aligned in support of command, department, division and branch initiatives and goals.
  • You will participate in advancing Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) and C310 Planning Department strategic planning initiatives to promote continuous improvement.
