Full Job Description

This position is located under the Office of Intelligence Operations, International Affairs Division, Mexico Country Office in Mexico City, Mexico.

The selectee serves as an assistant to the principal or senior ATF representative and is located in the host country.

Assist in directing and managing the planning, development and implementation of joint strategies, tactics, information sharing and other programs involving mutual law enforcement concerns between ATF and the host country.

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume.

Specialized experience must include all of: Applying and enforcing ATF laws and policies concerning international trafficking in firearms; AND Negotiating and collaborating with others (i.e.

interacting with other law enforcement agency (state, local or federal) and international; AND Providing leadership to others such as workgroups, teams or special projects.

The major duties of the Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Country Attache) position include but are not limited to the following: Serves as the principal or senior ATF representative to the host country on law enforcement matters and ensures that all ATF activities are in accordance with the appropriate agreements between the host country and the United States.

Direct and manage the planning, development and implementation of joint strategies, tactics, information sharing and other programs involving mutual law enforcement concerns between ATF and the host country Leads and/or participates as a principal member of working groups, hearings, conferences, and formal meetings concerned with the ITAR program and other law enforcement issues of mutual concern to the Bureau and the host country.

Performs the full range of supervisory duties over staff members assigned to ATF's office in the host country.
