This job involves leading a team of engineers and scientists in developing and managing support equipment for electronic warfare systems used in naval aircraft and missiles, including planning projects, handling budgets, and solving technical challenges for new technologies.
A good fit would be an experienced technical leader with a background in engineering or science, strong project management skills, and the ability to supervise a large team while communicating effectively with stakeholders.

You will serve as the Externally Directed Team (EDT) Lead of the E5225 Support Equipment Systems Group of the E522 Multi-Spectral EW Systems Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13/14) or pay band (NM-04) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer/scientist.
Specialized experience includes duties related to the following:1)Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge for support equipment and electronic warfare (EW) systems, including O-level test solutions for existing RF systems, support equipment for subsonic and supersonic aerial targets, and support equipment for missile avionics systems; 2) Experience in managing development and test projects, including establishing budgets, schedules, and preparing funding proposals to address capability gaps; 3) Proven ability to define project requirements, identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and execute projects successfully; 4) Leadership skills to supervise and manage a team of 50 civilians, including evaluating employee performance, providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with safety, security, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations; 5) Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical requirements for emerging technologies, combined with effective communication skills for interfacing with customers, preparing status reports, and providing technical guidance.
