Summary

This job is for a senior program manager in the U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, focusing on overseeing large-scale facilities projects, solving complex planning and resource issues, and working with teams inside and outside the organization to meet goals.

Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S.

Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management located in Washington DC; Aliso Viejo, CA; Euless, Tx; Indianapolis, IN.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Resolving complex planning, evaluation, control, and resource allocation problems to support business decisions for large-scale organizational facilities.

Leading collaborative efforts with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives and international partners, to align program objectives and ensure successful outcomes.

Managing large-scale initiatives involving multiple stakeholders, proactively addressing challenges and reallocating resources to maintain progress.

Conducting advanced research and analysis to identify emerging challenges and opportunities and utilizing that research to propose innovative solutions to address gaps and improve program outcomes.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Facilities and Asset Management.

The Operational Support Facilities Division is responsible for overseeing the planning, construction, maintenance, repairs, operations, and sustainment of OFAM's facilities pertaining to the Office of Air and Marine, the United States Border Patrol, and the Office of Field Operations to enable the CBP and DHS missions of protecting America and its citizens while facilitating legitimate trade and travel.

In this position you will serve as the program manager overseeing and supporting an international portfolio to include the countries of Canada and Mexico.

This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

As a Program Manager your typical work assignments may include: Observing a variety of literature to include newspapers, magazines, audio visual reports, and press releases, in order to detect political opinions or trend, which may affect or impact on interests of CBP and other Federal agencies relating to national and bio-national issues.

Providing administrative advice on strategic issues; collaborating with program offices across CBP, DHS, and external agencies to improve processes throughout the agency.

Managing the development, assignment, and higher-level goals and objectives of subordinate organizational units and approving multi-year work plans developed by subordinate organizational units.

Performing analysis of management and program activities for a major segment of a department-wide mission or administrative program for matters of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.

Serving as liaison with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies, top-level managers in DHS/CBP/OFAM, and various governing boards/committees.
