Job Description
Summary
This job involves planning and managing cyber defense programs for the Department of Defense, including creating acquisition plans, handling budgets and schedules, and ensuring projects meet goals.
It supports the US Cyber Command's mission in a high-level role.
A good fit would be someone with experience in government project management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate with senior leaders in a fast-paced defense environment.
Key Requirements
- At least one year of experience equivalent to GS-12 level in developing or planning acquisition plans, funds, and scheduling program objectives or milestones
- Ability to execute planning, programming, and analysis for short- and long-range acquisition plans affecting joint force objectives
- Skills in developing policies, procedures, and methods for administrative management, control, and maintenance of projects
- Proficiency in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating programmatic funding, contracts, schedules, and performance data
- Experience coordinating with senior management, oversight, customer, and support officials on acquisition plans and milestones
- Ability to provide staff guidance and direction to ensure compliance with policies and constraints in plan development and implementation
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain necessary security clearance for DoD Cyber Defense Command role
Full Job Description
This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.
It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DoD Cyber Defense Command (DCDC).
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.
Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience developing or planning in acquisition plans, funds, and scheduling program objectives or milestones.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement. Major Duties:
- Executes planning, programming, and analysis, in development of short- and long-range acquisition plans, affecting joint force program objectives and milestones.
- Develops policies, procedures, and methods required for the administrative management, control, and maintenance of assigned projects.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates a wide range of programmatic funding, contract, schedule, and other performance data.
- Coordinates with senior management, oversight, customer, and support officials in the formulation and review of acquisition plans, milestones, and schedules.
- Provides staff guidance and direction to all elements engages in the development and implementation of plans and objectives to assure compliance with applicable policies and constraints.
