Job Description


The Office Assistant position will be responsible for staffing the Accountability Court receptionist desk, while serving as the first point of contact for program participants, visitors, and stakeholders.

The incumbent will be answering and routing incoming telephone calls, providing accurate information or directing inquiries to appropriate staff.

Additionally, the role will be processing participant program fees at the payment window in accordance with established procedure.


Essential Duties

  • Observing and monitoring drug screens in compliance with program protocols and confidentiality requirements
  • Greeting and interacting with program participants
  • Performing related administrative and clerical duties, as assigned to support program operations
  • Receiving referrals from the Courts, Defense Attorneys, Prosecuting Attorneys, and Defendants, and the general public
  • Maintaining case files, intakes and contact logs as well as the offender’s statistical database accurately and in a timely manner
  • Keeping current on applicable laws and regulations, as well as clinical developments within a professional area of knowledge
  • Reviewing arrests daily for possible Accountability Court candidates
  • Explaining treatment court program to interested offenders
  • Performing other duties of a similar nature or level


Hourly rate


  • $20.00 - $25.00/hr. The salary is dependent on education and experience.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma/GED, AND
  • 2 years customer service experience.
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of legal experience
  • Knowledge of substance abuse, addictions, mental health, casework practices, community treatment providers, and treatment modalities
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
  • Ability to work 40 hours every other week
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when handling confidential information
