Summary

This job is for a manager in a naval research center who leads a team of engineers focused on developing and supporting microelectronic components for defense systems.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a MANAGER in the Global Deterrance & Defense Department (GX), Strategic Microelectronics Division (GXM), Component Engineering Branch (GXMP) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions.

This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $163,514).

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading projects involving the application of microelectronic technologies for DoW systems, to include risk identification and mitigation and to develop system performance solutions.

  • You will lead the branch towards its mission to deliver or facilitate complete electronic component solutions using GXM’s capabilities.
  • You will lead senior component engineers to utilize expertise in requirements, test methods, and manufacturing processes to provide programmatic guidance for critical technologies.
  • You will help resident engineers provide on-site engineering support for the Division and its strategic customer base.
  • You will lead and support staff who provide oversight of workload that spans multiple functional lab areas and also ensure traceability to test requirements.
  • You will manage a team of process engineers and analysts who coordinate a large microelectronic parts program that includes both contractor and government stakeholders.
  • You will lead employees who manage large investments intended to sustain a healthy Defense Industrial Base in the microelectronics sector.
