Job Description

Summary

This job is for a branch manager in a naval warfare center, where you'll oversee teams working on software development, engineering, and operations for military systems like surveillance and mobility tech.

Key Requirements

  • Oversight of acquisition planning and coordination of tasks to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals
  • Skills in analyzing and implementing procedures to enhance program efficiency, productivity, and quality of deliverables
  • Experience developing policies, procedures, and improvements for branch operations and customer services

Full Job Description

You will serve as a MANAGER in the Maneuver, Surveillance & Engagement Div (MXP), Expeditionary Software Development Branch (MXPL), Business Operations Branch (MXPB), or Mobility Systems Engineering Branch (MXPQ) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions.

This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-14 Step 10 (currently $163,514).

In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or scientist leading the planning and execution of projects, programs, or initiatives by managing project resources and quality deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met.

  • You will serve as the Branch Manager and is responsible for overall effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity and for the development/implementation of the Branch’s policies/procedures.
  • You will develop and maintain long/short-term planning for funding, human resources, facilities and equipment.
  • You will provide oversight to the acquisition planning related to branch projects.
  • You will analyze and implement procedures and processes for the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the programs/projects.
  • You will develop procedures to improve the quality of services, products and processes for customers.
  • You will monitor and coordinate tasking and continuous work for the branch’s internal and external customers to ensure adherence to cost, schedule, and performance.
