This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War (ODASW), Energy Resilience and Optimization (ERO).
This office is responsible for overseeing the provision of installation assets and services necessary to support our military forces in a cost effective, safe, sustainable, and environmentally sound manner.
The incumbent supports the ODASW(ERO) on all matters related to the DoW Military Aviation and Installation Assurance Siting Clearinghouse.
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to initiate programs, actions, and tasks to ensure adherence to policies and procedures; ensure that programs accommodate operational requirements; promoting the readiness and efficiency of the armed forces; Develop and initiate management techniques and practices to facilitate the critical review and analysis of energy projects for mission compatibility; and Manage and provide recommendation for military mission compatibility.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Develops, recommends and evaluates policies, guidance, strategies and plans for protecting military testing, training and operations from incompatible development.
Performs extensive coordination with the Services, renewable energy industry and Congress to promote mission compatibility.
Drafts presentations, testimony and justifications for installations' programs for delivery to senior officials and congressional committees.
Provides management expertise for combating encroachment that can limit or restrict military training, testing, and operations.
Conducts analyses, provides advice, make recommendations and drafts policies or procedures on Range and Airspace protections.
