Full Job Description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, CBP Watch located in Washington D.C.

Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Evaluating program effectiveness by collecting and analyzing operational data to identify trends and recommend process improvements within established deadlines.

Preparing analytical reports by synthesizing information from multiple sources to support management decisions and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Coordinating project activities by scheduling meetings, tracking deliverables, and maintaining documentation to support timely completion of tasks.

Implementing procedural changes by drafting and distributing updated guidelines to staff, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.

Monitoring resource utilization by reviewing budget reports and tracking expenditures to support efficient allocation of funds within fiscal constraints.

Background Investigation: U.S.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment in order to promote the agency's core values of vigilance, service to country, and integrity.

In this position, you will oversee and optimize office operations, support program management, and provide analytical expertise to drive organizational efficiency.

You will directly contribute to the agency's mission by ensuring effective program execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.

This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

You will be responsible for managing complex projects, evaluating operational processes, and providing actionable recommendations to improve workflow, streamline case management, and support informed decision-making throughout the organization.

Major duties include but are not limited to: Planning and conducting special studies in assigned program areas, either independently or through team collaboration.

Advising managers on program operations and assisting in the development and implementation of agency policies.

Implementing financial management procedures and developing guidance to clarify agency regulations and policies.

Performing comprehensive financial management analysis by applying established principles to complex and varied problems.

Designing and administering planning, training, and control processes for data submission, supporting budget, training, and resource decisions.
