The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission is looking for a skilled, energetic trades person to provide grounds keeping as well as building maintenance, repair, and custodial services at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth's busiest and most high-profile museum.
Located in Strasburg, PA, the museum is a large complex that preserves and interprets Pennsylvania's rich railroading history for over 100,000 visitors each year, using a world-class collection of more than 100 locomotives and railroad cars, as well as a collection of more than half a million photographic images and documents and nearly 20,000 smaller artifacts.
If you have an interest in working both outdoors and indoors and around full-size historic railroad equipment, apply today to join our team!

As a steward of the Commonwealth's rich railroading history, you will be called upon to exercise your carpentry, construction, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and grounds keeping skills on a daily basis.
This includes ensuring that the site is clean, presentable, and ready to be enjoyed by the tens of thousands of guests who visit each year.
You will support site operations by assisting with repair services on building systems and equipment, performing grounds keeping duties, assisting with set-up and tear-down for special programs and events, and responding to after-hours alarms.
This position also offers the opportunity to assist with the preservation of historic locomotives, railcars, and related equipment and to learn or expand your knowledge of various building systems and their monitoring.
