Requirements

The Maintenance Repairman 1 is responsible for the appearance, general care, and maintenance of the grounds to include gardens, trees, shrubbery, lawn care, and snow and ice removal in the Capitol Complex and outlying facilities.

Work includes operating and utilizing a variety of mechanized and motorized grounds keeping equipment and tools to maintain lawn and garden areas.

Driving light vehicles such as jeeps, pickup trucks, small dumps, and other miscellaneous equipment related to grounds keeping will be your responsibility.

This position monitors the exterior of the Capitol Complex and related outlying buildings to include removing litter and debris from grounds, sidewalks, streets, and parking areas.

You will be expected to load and unload items from trucks and maintain supply and equipment storage areas in a clean and orderly condition.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Essential Employee - required to work during emergencies and office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.


Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
