Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing army supply systems, ensuring equipment and resources are available for soldiers, and overseeing processes to keep operations running smoothly at a military base in Kansas.

About the Position: This position is located with the Army Sustainment Command, Fort Riley, KS.

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Evaluating automated supply systems; 2) Assisting in reviewing critical elements of stockage list policies; 3) Performing business processes for the Supply Support Activity functions; and 4) Measuring the effectiveness of supply systems at the Brigade level.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Negotiates with local organizations and uses discretion and judgment to bring unresolved issues to Support Operations to assist with resolution as required.
  • Provides expert guidance to decision makers in identifying processes and procedures that will support fund solvency and ensures supply support sustains the warfighter to ensure operational effectiveness, expanded capability and readiness.
  • Monitors Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A) maintains oversight of routine transactions and documents flow to ensure compliance with business processes and procedures supporting the Single Stock Fund.
  • Reviews installation and tactical-level Authorized Stockage Lists per Army policy.
  • Provides oversight of Supply Support Activity (SSA) functions in regards to Single Stock Fund business processes.
