Full Job Description

You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Systems Acquisition Group Logistics Integration Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV, serving as the AIRWorks Deputy Director, Product Support and Logistics.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band (DS-05) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating mastery of advanced concepts, principles, and practices of all aspects of the broad field of logistics management that enables incumbent to serve as an expert in the full range of system integrated logistics support 2) Comprehensive knowledge of abbreviated weapon system acquisition life cycle requirements and rapid acquisition/urgent needs processes 3) Thorough knowledge of the methodology for determining reliability, maintainability, and availability and a thorough understanding of their interrelationships and potential for influencing the design and development process.

Additionally, The System Acquisition Group Logistics Integration Department (SAGLID) AIRWorks Logistics Management Specialist position is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP) and requires a candidate to meet the following minimum criteria: (1) six years of recent combined Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) experience within the last 10 years holding LCL positions; (2) have at least six years of logistics experience in the acquisition and sustainment of aircraft and/or aircraft systems (3) managed junior level Life Cycle Logisticians at the GS13 or equivalent and/or below level.

  • You will serve as the AIRWorks Lead Logistics Management Specialist, responsible for the overall management of logistics efforts as applicable for all AIRWorks projects.
  • You will offer organic and contractual alternatives to many products and services, providing 80% solutions quickly (rapid response)
  • You will determine applicable logistics requirements for all AIRWorks projects by participating in AIRWorks meetings.
  • You will review all documented projects within the database for potential logistics requirements and develop a plan of action to communicate identified gaps in logistics requirements and provide recommendations.
  • You will advise the AIRWorks Team Leads in the formulation of the support and maintenance concepts and maintainability requirements for AIRWorks projects.
  • You will determine and assign qualified Logistics Managers to AIRWorks projects affecting their programs or, if support is not available, assume logistics oversight of those projects until appropriate resources are identified.
  • You will assist with transition of short-term logistics support requirements planning to long-term logistics support for projects that turn into programs of record.
