Full Job Description

You will serve as a Lead Packaging Specialist in the Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation (PHS&T) Department, Mechanicsburg Site, Engineering and Product Support Department (N2), of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applies broad technical knowledge to the resolution of unprecedented problems having a direct impact on high level PHS&T programs; 2) Provides Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) planning and management for packaging and stock readiness; 3) Implements packaging and storage policy requirements in order to function as a technical expert for all packaging, handling, and storage matters; 4) Generates packaging and storage data along with the technical capability to recognize shelf-life and wood packaging (WPM) items; 5) Uses written and oral communication to deliver technical requirements to non-technical internal/external customers.

  • You will serve as a primary point of contact within NAVSUP WSS for the development of ongoing policy guidance for Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transportation matters including packaging, stock readiness, and storage.
  • You will manage resources received from acquisition programs and develop, execute, and adjust budgets both within the team and at outsourced activities.
  • You will direct and provide guidance to internal staff regarding the development of packaging and storage requirements in support of NAVSUP WSS provisioning, acquisition, and stock readiness processes.
  • You will distribute the workload to the team based on employees' positions, using established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization and make adjustments based on changes in priorities.
  • You will monitor and report on the status of work and review work in progress and completed work to ensure that work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality standards have been met.
