Providing them eligibility information, reviewing their paperwork and getting them the approved time off. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Human Resource Service Center (HRSC) FMLA Services is a team of dedicated staff who are called upon when Commonwealth employees need support the most. Requirements

As an FMLA Specialist, you will be working within the HR Service Center, as a team member of the Time Services Division, FMLA Services section. Administers the FMLA and Leave Donation programs for an assigned client area using collective bargaining agreements, Management Directives and other policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure efficiency and consistency.

You will have the opportunity to provide direction, information and guidance to employees, supervisors/managers and human resource office staff related to FMLA absences and leave donations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, in office one day per month, 3rd Tuesday.

    In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.

    If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Human Resource Management Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 2 or an Equal Opportunity Assistant; (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of paraprofessional analytical experience and a bachelor’s degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
