The Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS) is currently looking to hire Retirement Representative Trainees to join the Bureau of Communications and Counseling.
These roles are focused on our members, providing explanation, counseling, and the facilitation of the PSERS employee benefits program.

This position is located in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania for which the incumbent must maintain Pennsylvania residency.
The employer will not pay for relocation, housing, or travel expenses.

As a Retirement Representative Trainee, you will be a member of the PSERS Call Center.
You will be trained to handle member phone calls and electronic inquiries regarding retirement plans and benefits for active and retired members utilizing the PSERS databases, business software, and the Microsoft Office 365 platform which will be the majority of your daily duties.
Duties also require public speaking to large and small groups through virtual and in person retirement seminars which will require using multiple computer programs simultaneously.
This position also gathers member information for individual retirement counseling sessions, provides calculations regarding retirement benefits, inputs and verifies accuracy of data submitted, participates in the testing of automated system changes, and analyzes data to validate information and identify errors.This is a trainee position.
Following the successful completion of this twelve-month on-site training period, candidates will be eligible for promotion to PSERS Retirement Representative.
Candidates who would be successful in this role will have strong public speaking, verbal and written communication skills, high volume call center experience, and the able to use multiple computer systems and applications simultaneously to provide high quality and seamless customer service for our members and the employers who support them.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Telework: Once the initial 12-month training is completed, this position may be able to telework on a part-time basis, based on operational needs.
In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the regional office in Pittsburgh. Telework is subject to change at any time.
