About the Position: The purpose of this position is to serve as the Lead Human Resources Technician (Military / Office Automation) responsible for directing and guiding 3-5 Human Resources Technicians in GS-203-05 or military equivalent.

Incumbent provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Processing Element of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS).

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Reviewing applicant records to determine discrepancies; Assembling applicant packets for distribution; AND Maintaining electronic and paper applicant records.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Major Duties:

  • Coach, facilitate, resolve work problems and participate in the work of the MEPS Processing Element.
  • Provide input to supervisor on performance, progress, and training needs of employees, and on disciplinary problems.
  • Perform Human Resources Assistant duties identical to those led.
  • Certifies that enlistment has been properly conducted by verifying system displayed contract is complete and all additional disclosed information has been supplied to the service representative.
  • Provide routine technical assistance or training to users of automated personnel database systems.
