This job involves leading media and marketing efforts for a state workforce agency, including managing video projects, writing content, planning events, and coordinating with partners to promote workforce development.

It's an internal role only for current agency employees, focused on supporting South Carolina's job system through strategic outreach.

The Strategic Communications and Media Manager will manage all media and external marketing projects for the Communications Division in Columbia.
This position will track requests and initiatives, and then work with customers and stakeholders to develop, prepare, edit, coordinate, and disseminate informational material involving mass media, with a large concentration on video production projects, software and online outreach support, and writing.
By working directly with agency stakeholders, this position will also be responsible for managing projects, event planning, and strategic communication.
This position will also supervise the videography and photography team at the agency and manage all major production deliverables from pre-production to post- evaluation.

A Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Video Production, Journalism, Media, English, or a relevant field involving strategic communications, videography, and writing.
Additional RequirementsAt least four years of experience in an academic or professional setting that is relevant to external communication projects. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Overnight travel may be required. Able to carry camera equipment around and drive a state vehicle.
Exceptional videography, writing, time management, and organizational skills are a must. Needs to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with strict deadlines.
Ability to lead a media production team, including training and reviewing the work of others. Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
